20th Day - My 365 Days

20th Day:

Despedida...

Despedida is a borrowed name from Spanish language. Maybe it was the time when Philippines was colonized by Spaniards and there are few words Filipinos used.

Despedida in Spanish mean "adios" or in English meaning "farewell". Saying farewell means goodbye for something and a welcome to a new opportunity.

Last night, a former colleague of mine had her Despedida Party in one of the restaurants in Ayala Town Center. Prio to her Despedida Party, she was crying and asking me if I cried when I left the company. I told her that I didn't feel the same way as she feel at her moment of leaving the company. Maybe because it was her first time to work and be close to some of the employees.

I told her that I have met lots of friends and people in different places. I am used to the situation where I usually say "goodbye, see you soon" or "keep in touch always." That's why leaving another company was not really an emotional one but then I am very sad for leaving again new friends I met. I'll just bear their faces in my mind and some memories we had during those time I was with them.

It's quite lonely to live this kind of life but this is how my life is. I stayed for awhile and have some friends and then later on I'll move to another place. But then still I am hopeful that the friendship I had started with my friends in different places I have been will continue to grow despite of the distance we had.
